Bradley Phelps

Back to Faculty & Staff

Studying physics as an undergraduate, Bradley Phelps' interest in climate policy was sparked through his work in a solar cell laboratory at Binghamton University. Fresh out of his undergrad, he spent several years in an X-ray laboratory as a civilian scientist with the Army. Prior to graduate school, he served as a team leader with AmeriCorps NCCC, managing teammates and projects on food insecurity, Covid testing logistics, environmental conservation and refugee resettlement.

Beginning with the CGS community in September of 2022, Phelps completed his Master’s in Public Policy over the past two years at the UMD School of Public Policy, exploring federal forest policy and various environmental ethics topics. He was a part of the Maryland Climate Pathway project, and he continues to work with the Maryland team. Phelps finds the interdisciplinary nature of climate policy particularly interesting as it sits at the intersection of physical science, social science, public administration, ethics and related disciplines.
