Under the Clean Trucks Act of 2023, the Maryland Department of the Environment (MDE) must implement regulations aligned with California’s Advanced Clean Trucks (ACT) rules. This move will enable Maryland to meet its greenhouse gas emission reduction goals. A new report co-authored by the Center for Global Sustainability analyzes EV transportation infrastructure needs in Maryland and offers a pathway to achieve the state’s emissions’ targets, including 100% zero-emission vehicles sales for new medium- and heavy-duty vehicles by 2050.
