The Center for Global Sustainability (CGS), based at the University of Maryland School of Public Policy, will participate in the 2024 Climate Week NYC. This year's event, which takes place from September 22-29, will host leaders from the NGO, business, government, and climate research and advocacy sectors. Participants will address the challenges and opportunities posed by climate change and the clean energy transition, exchanging knowledge, research, and leading-edge developments and financial support for new clean economies and technologies. The goal of Climate Week NYC is to increase momentum for the global shift toward clean energy and robust climate action. Throughout the event, CGS will collaborate with global leaders, researchers, climate advocates, business leaders, and international organizations, leveraging our world-class research and dynamic engagement to advance climate policy and action across the globe.

CGS will bring our expertise to Climate Week NYC at a critical moment for global transformative climate action. Our delegation will include Acting Director Ryna Cui, Research Manager Alicia Zhao, and Program Manager Camryn Dahl. In addition to speaking at and co-hosting various events, CGS will release a major new study on the upcoming NDC reporting process, as required under the Paris Agreement and in support of advancing global climate ambitions.
